Daniel graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas with a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.
While in law school, Daniel was President of the Outlaws & Allies LGBTQ-focused student association where he worked with the KU Hispanic American Law Student Association (HALSA) and Native American Law Student Association (NALSA) to increase intersectional outreach to his community. He was also a recipient of the CALI Excellence Award in Electronic Discovery.
During law school, Daniel worked with the University of Kansas School of Law’s Paul E. Wilson Project for Innocence & Post-Conviction Remedies Office and interned with the KU Medical Legal Partnership Clinic that provided free legal assistance to low-income clients referred to the clinic by physicians at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
