Mary Neal

Mary graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Linguistics, minoring in Russian and Psychology. She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law with a Certificate in Public Interest Law.
Honors and Activities
Mary gives “know your rights” presentations to local schools and community groups and has volunteered to represent many families seeking asylum who were detained by the U.S. government in “family jails” in Artesia, New Mexico and Dilley, Texas. During law school, Mary volunteered as a child advocate for immigrant children in the custody of the U.S. government. She also worked with First Defense Legal Aid coordinating representation for people in police custody and the Student Hurricane Network assisting small businesses affected by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

She speaks English, Spanish, German, and Russian.
Professional Memberships
She is co-Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
