Margaret O’Donoghue

Margaret graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland with a BA in European Studies. She received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a certificate in Public Interest Law.

Margaret has been practicing family immigration law and removal defense since January 2014. She has been an associate attorney at the Law Office of Robert Ahlgren and Associates since 2016, a supervisory attorney since 2019, and a partner since 2021. Margaret is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She has co-chaired several AILA Chicago chapter committees and has been invited to be a guest speaker at conferences with AILA and the Chicago Bar Association.

In November 2018, Margaret volunteered with the Dilley Pro Bono Project at the Texas border, working with detained immigrant mothers and children. She is passionate about advocating for immigration reform in the United States and keeping families together.
