Leah Duckett, our partner, passed away on May 31, 2018 surrounded by her family after a courageous fight against leukemia. Leah had been an attorney with our office for 15 years.
She worked tirelessly to protect and defend the rights of immigrants throughout her career. Her impact on the immigration community is immeasurable. We know that Leah’s legacy will carry on in the work that we do and each immigrant we are able to help. Leah’s spirit, passion, and dedication is alive in each of us at Ahlgren Law.
In remembrance of Leah, a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) scholarship through Loyola University Chicago School of Law (Leah’s alma mater) has been formed in her honor. This scholarship is now fully endowed. We together through Leah will send some well-deserving DACA students to law school in her honor that otherwise would not be able to afford it—a lasting legacy in Leah’s honor that will continue to make a difference in the immigrant community that Leah worked so tirelessly to fight for throughout her career.
